Judith Barry studierte an der University of California at Berkeley sowie am New York Institute of Technology [MFA]. Ihre Arbeiten aus den Bereichen Performance, Installation, Film/Video, Skulptur, Fotografie und Neue Medien wurden im Kontext zahlreicher internationaler Ausstellungen und Festivals präsentiert, wie etwa im Rahmen der Architekturausstellung der Biennale von Venedig, der Biennale von Sao Paulo, der Whitney Biennale oder der Carnegie International. Im Jahr 2000 wurde Barry mit dem Kiesler-Preis für Architektur und Kunst ausgezeichnet und erhielt den Preis für den »Besten Pavillon« der Kairo Biennale.
