Luc Courchesne setzte sich seit den frühen achtziger
Jahren mit Konzepten zur Interaktivität auseinander. Im Zusammenhang
mit Projekten für das Design von Ausstellungen beschäftigte
er sich mit der Implementierung von Multimedia im Museum und Studien
zur Lichtführung im Raum. Nach vielen Experimenten mit Fotografie,
Film und Video konzentrierte er sich für seine Arbeit auf die
Darstellung von Porträts. Mit interaktivem Video untersucht
Courchesne Konversationsmuster und Prozesse der Selbstdarstellung.
Bei seinen interaktiven Einzel- und Gruppenporträts macht er
besonders die komplexen Zusammenhänge zwischen Mimik, Gestus
und Sprache erfahrbar und bezieht den Besucher in den Dialog mit
ein.
