Martha Rosler is an artist whose work often focuses on the public sphere and landscapes of everyday life, especially as they affect women. Rosler has produced works for many years on war and the national security climate, connecting everyday experiences at home with the conduct of war abroad. She also writes about art and culture. Her most recent book is »Culture Class«, published by e-flux and Sternberg Press in 2013 from which the essay in this volume is drawn. Rosler has had numerous solo exhibitions at museums and galleries all over the world. In November 2012 she presented her performance and installation »Meta-Monumental Garage Sale« at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and in 2014 her exhibition and project »Guide for the Perplexed: How to Succeed in the New Poland« was held at the Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw.
