»... You have set my feet in a large place.«

The ecumenical service wants to trace the concept of the exhibition »Negative Space – Sculpture and Installation in the 20th/21st Century« with religious sensitivity. On this evening, spatial experience means especially to be open for interspaces, free spaces and surrounding spaces as well as for permeability between the inner and the outer. Emptiness, air and vastness of space, movement in space and time, shadow phenomena or silence are basic experiences of human existence, for which faith can offer specific interpretations.

The group »Raum-Musik für Saxophone« will make the spatial dimensions of the evening acoustically experienceable. A team of art scholars, musicians and theologians, who have been responsible for church services at the ZKM for over 20 years, prepared this service.
