Jonas Denzel: Beambike projection mapping
A bridge in a park at night. A row of pairs of eyes is projected in a horizontal strip on the outer wall of the bridge. The rets of the bridge shine in different colors.

A tree with countless eyes blinking into all directions at the same time? A rigid column full of colorful hands that longingly reach out to one another? Blue and neon green veins of trees? Sounds impossible.

But it is not. Jonas Denzel has built a bicycle that is able to spontaneously enchant its immediate surroundings: the »beambike«. This wondrous electrical cargo bike, equipped with mobile projection technology, is turning rather rigid urban places such as bridges, statues or underpasses into vivid creatures.

The work is part of the art festival »Seasons of Media Arts 2020«, which is closely associated with the »UNESCO City of Media Arts« Karlsruhe. Since September, various selected media art works have been on display throughout the city.

The projection will be on display for about 1 hour. Come by between 7 and 8 pm, keep your distance, enter into exchange with an underpass; enjoy the projection mapping!
