How can the limits of the body and its identity be redefined in the near future? »Eve 2050« invites the audience to an aesthetic and ethical reflection on the future of man and body in the age of digital technology, biomedical advances and artificial intelligence.

The work combines dance, video, music, visual and digital art, and in doing so, creates the integration of life and technology. »Eve 2050« tells the story of Eve, which is constantly changing through the interactions of audience and performers. Eve is symbolic of the human being of the future: male, female, transgender, child, adult, a body extended by technology or hybridized with other species.

In the live performance, performers and audience share a space that radiates an almost contemplative atmosphere. Transparent, holographic panels show images of Eve interacting with the real–time images of visitors and performers. Bodies of the past, present and future merge in a performance in which physical and virtual boundaries blur. This unique and immersive environment transforms visitors as they walk through the interactive panels into one of Eve's many faces. Supported by an engaging musical composition, images and movement in space, the many facets of the human body are revealed before our eyes.

»Eve 2050« is the result of years of research by Van Grimde Corps Secrets and interviews with researchers, scientists, philosophers and specialists whose work relates to the body. In this piece, choreographer Isabelle Van Grimde evokes reflections on the development of the body and the knowledge acquired in the fields of plastic surgery, microbiology, anthropology and artificial intelligence. The piece weaves a poetic, multifaceted portrait of the future of humanity – a future that is much closer than we realize.

Duration: 30 min, followed by an interactive tour of the installation
