Biography

Sabine Faller (St.Ex.II) is a Research Associate in the Department Museum Communication at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe. Her main focus lies in designing and developing workshops, projects and educational programs in the fields of media art, digital education and online learning. She is also co-project manager of the artistic scholarship programs "Masterclass" and "Kulturakademie" as well as co-creator at the Makerspace "BÄM".
Prior to that, she studied Art and German in the teacher training program of the University of Education in Freiburg. After her studies she worked as an art teacher and freelance media educator and editor for ALEX Offener Kanal Berlin and the Lernradio PH 88,4 Freiburg.

She is a speaker and leads workshops in several conferences and symposia such as Bauhaus Annual Meeting - Weimar (2019), re:publica - Berlin (2019 and 2018), Digital Atelier - Bologna (2019), Rocket Girls - JHW Freiburg e.V. (2019), Art and Social Responsibility in the Arab World - International Artists Gathering of FEZ (2019), Technarte Los Angeles and Bilbao (2018), We Are Museums - Marrakesh (2018), The Futurological Congress - Ingolstadt (2018), CODE {affair} | Code Your Life - Berlin (2017), The Future of the Cultural Sector in the Digitised Society - Regensburg (2017) and Maker Faire - Berlin (2016).

So far she has published the article "Exploring the Unknown - Cultural Education and Digital Transformation" (Nomos, 2019), "Innovative Knowledge Transfer in the Digitalized Society" (digilog@bw), "Art Education, Code and the Artistic Digital - Creative and Digital" (LKJ) and "Museum Sector of the Future - participatory Model: The BÄM" (University of Regensburg, 2018).

As a musician, DJane and editor, she is also involved in the radio program "Girlsattack" (ALEX Berlin) and the event series "Salon Riot" (Slow Club Freiburg), where she gives women in the art and culture sector a platform to perform.

She is jury member of "KULTURLICHTER - German Prize for Cultural Education" (Cultural Foundation of the Federal States).
