Biography
Hans Dieter Huber studied painting and graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich (DE) from 1973 to 1977, and from 1977 to 1986 art history, philosophy, and psychology in Heidelberg (DE). From 1997 to 1999 he was professor of the history of art at the Academy of Visual Arts, Leipzig (DE); since 1999 he has been professor of contemporary art history, aesthetics, and art theory at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design (DE), where he headed the study program Conservation of New Media and Digital Information from 2006 to 2011. From 2006 to 2009 he was an associate professor at the Graduate Research Group Image, Body, Medium at the Karlsruhe University for Arts and Design (DE). In 2007 he was Senior Fellow at the Internationales Forschungszentrum Kulturwissenschaften in Vienna (AT). Since 2009 he has been a member of the enlarged executive board of the Gesellschaft für interdisziplinäre Bildwissenschaft e.V.
