Biography

Monika Fleischmann's works lie in the field of tension between science and art. Her experience as a designer and teacher led her to basic research in the New Media sector. In theoretical and practical projects she investigates computer technologies for their creative potential and stages experiments for the study of the interfaces between mechanical function and human imagination.

Education
1966-68 Trained as a Fashion Designer at the Zürich Fashion School
1976-82 Studied Visual Art/Aesthetic Education and Stage/Theater Pedagogy at the Hochschule der Künste (HdK) in Berlin and at the Pädagogische Hochschule and at the Institute for Stage and Theater Pedagogy, Berlin.
1984/86 Received diploma for Visual Arts Teachers (Staatsexamen)
