Biografie
Christine Reeh is a German film director and producer, as well as a film philosopher, living in Lisbon and Karlsruhe. She has studied visual arts and film in Karlsruhe and Lisbon. Additionally she holds a M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Lisbon. She is currently finishing her Ph.D. dissertation in philosophy at the same institution, in collaboration with the University of Bonn, granted by the Portuguese FCT Foundation. Her dissertation develops an ontology of film mainly based on Martin Heidegger and the movie »Solaris« by Andrei Tarkovsky.
 
Since 2000 Christine Reeh has worked in film editing and since 2003 in film production at C.R.I.M. in Lisbon, where she has also been directing manager (2003 – 2012). She has further directed several artistic documentaries, critically acclaimed and awarded. Since 2011 she is a associate researcher at the Centro de Filosofia of the University of Lisbon.  Currently, Christine Reeh is as well a lecturer at Peter Behrens School of Arts, Düsseldorf, and project manager at the ZKM | Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie Karlsruhe.
 
In 2014 Reeh has conceived and co-organized the International Lisbon Conference for Philosophy and Film at the National Library in Lisbon. She is the co-editor of »Thinking Reality and Time Through Film«, Cambridge Scholar Publishing, forthcoming 2016. She has further published among other essays "Essere nel Cinema" (in: »Fata Morgana - Quadrimestrale di Cinema und Visioni«, Nr. 21, Pellegrini Editore, Italy, 2013), and “O Cinema Total e o Desejo de Morte em Wagner [Total Cinema and Death-Drive in Wagner’s Total Work of Art]” (in: Carlos Joao Correia (Ed.), »Wagner. Musica e Pensamento«, Centro de Filosofia, University of Lisbon, 2014/2015).
 
As a producer Reeh is known for the films »E Agora? Lembra-Me« by Joaquim Pinto (2013 - Special Jury Prize at the Locarno Film Festival) and »Eden’s Ark« by Marcelo Felix. Her filmography as a director includes »The Chronicles of Polyaris« (2015 – Special Prize at VII International Film Festival Northern Character in Murmansk), »Mother Fatima« (2009), »Kinotel« (2009) and »Waiting for Europe« (2006 – Grand Prize Erasmus Euromedia Awards in Vienna and Best Documentary at the New York Independent International Film and Video Festival).
