Biografie

Marie Sester (*1955) ist eine französische Medienkünstlerin, die in Los Angeles, USA lebt und arbeitet. Sester studierte zunächst Architektur in Straßburg, bevor sich ihr Interesse von gebauten Strukturen auf die Frage verlagerte, wie Architektur und Ideologie unser Verständnis der Welt beeinflussen. In ihren Arbeiten untersucht sie ideologische Rahmenbedingungen innerhalb von Politik, Kultur und Technologie und hinterfragt, wie diese das Leben bestimmen. Ihre Arbeiten waren unter anderem auf der Gwangju Biennale (1997), der Ars Electronica (2003) oder der Singapur Biennale (2008) ausgestellt. Ihre Werke waren bereits wiederholt in Ausstellungen am ZKM | Karlsruhe vertreten.
