Together with the ZKM, the Jazzclub Karlsruhe has organized a jazz festival with numerous international acts and stars from the European jazz scene!

A total of ten acts introduce the public to the world of jazz on the three stages, each of which is dedicated to one theme: under the slogan »Groove«, soul and funk sounds can be heard at the ZKM_Media Theater. Fans of Swing and traditional sounds will certainly be in their element at the concert »Things that Swing« in the ZKM_Media Lounge, and with »JazzArt« concerts will be held at the ZKM_Cube, the stage of which is dedicated to the avant garde direction of jazz.

With the line-up of artists, the public may look forward to a mix of international flair and the grand tradition in regional jazz. Thus, in addition to acts and artists such as the »Magnus Lindgren Band« from Sweden, »Okon & The Movement« from Belgium, »Led Bib« from England, Andy Pfeiler from Sweden or Jochen Rueckert featuring Marc Turner, from the USA, there will also be home-grown jazz legends from Karlsruhe itself: the veterans »King« Theilmann, Johannes Frisch, Helmut Bieler-Wendt and Helmut Dinkel who built up and influenced the Karlsruhe scene are intimately connected with the history of the jazz club; they are scheduled to perform at the festival with their well-seasoned quartet »DFTh+HB-W«. With Viviane de Farias »Balakumbala« and the »Peter Lehel Electric Band« internationally renowned acts from in and around Karlsruhe that have made a decisive impact on the local scene will likewise make an appearance.

“We are happy to have had the opportunity to jointly organize the festival with the ZKM”, said Niklas Braun, chairman of the Jazzclub. “The atmosphere is right, the collaboration has been a highly enjoyable experience, and the ZKM spaces offer everything one requires for such a large-scale event.”
