Group exhibition to the study programme
Fri, July 28, 2023 – Sun, August 06, 2023

Under the motto »KO(N)KREATION«, the group exhibition presents works by the [MASTERCLASS] scholarship holders from the period of one year.

The works by Amadea Marguerite Klara Beier, Marie Gerstner, Jacob Glötzl, Sabine Hendreich, Viktoria Kling, Yvonne-Courtney Okolo and Emma Morales Sabournin were developed and realised during the scholarship period from September 2022 until today.

The word play »KO(N)KREATION« goes back to a term chosen by the young people themselves. It unites seven »KON-contrasting« artistic positions that deal with issues such as self-perception, normative body images, interculturality, consumer criticism, thoughts about the future and digitalisation. The themes that have emerged in the sense of »co-creation« in the joint design of the exhibition stand for the central experiences and processes of the scholarship holders.

The opening of the exhibition [MASTERCLASS] #9 will take place on 28 July at 5 pm in Lichthof 8 of the ZKM [Karlsruhe].

About the [MASTERCLASS] scholarship

The [MASTERCLASS] scholarship enables up to seven young people between the ages of 15 and 19 to become intensively acquainted with current art trends and the programme of the ZKM | Karlsruhe. In exchange with like-minded people and professional artists, the young talents learn how to work with new media in workshops lasting several days and receive comprehensive further training in the areas of work conception, video and sound art, live coding and analogue photography.

The aim of the scholarship is to design and present a joint analogue, hybrid or digital exhibition. Artists and curators act as mentors, advising and supporting the scholarship holders.

The [MASTERCLASS] scholarship is funded by the Fördergesellschaft ZKM / HfG e.V. and the Gunther Schroff Foundation.
