Mourning for Friedrich Erwin Rentschler

The ZKM mourns the death of art collector Friedrich Erwin Rentschler, who supported the exhibition work of the former ZKM | Collector Museum with his collection for many years.

After leaving the management of his company, the Dr. Rentschler Group, he devoted himself entirely to his passion: collecting contemporary art. His ambition to give it as large a platform as possible prompted him to put the large installations of his FER Collection on permanent loan to the ZKM show collection. From 2000 to 2006 the entrepreneur and art collector Friedrich Erwin Rentschler was spokesman of the collectors at the ZKM | Karlsruhe.

In 2009 he opened the FER Collection in Ulm together with his wife Maria Schlumberger.
