Biography

Renate Heyne studied under Joseph Beuys at the Arts Academy of Düsseldorf from 1969 to 1974. Beginning in 1972, she collaborated on Fotoforum Kassel exhibitions and publications, and was artistic contributor in the experimental photography class at the Kunsthochschule [University of Arts] Kassel.

Since 2001 she has been working with Floris Neusüss on developing the exhibition »Leibniz’ Storehouse«, a collection of photograms of objects and exhibit pieces from museums of natural history, technology, and art history. In 2009 Renate Heyne was a co-editor of the catalog raisonné »Moholy-Nagy – The Photograms«.

In 2015, Floris Neusüss and Renate Heine donated the extensive »Photogram Archive HeyneNeusüss« to ZKM | Karlsruhe.
