In this electroacoustic loudspeaker concert the composer and producer, Erik Mikael Karlsson, provides a resounding introduction to the »Swedish sound« or what he calls the Swedish aesthetic approach to acousmatic music. Compositions for loudspeakers have a long tradition in Sweden, which is closely bound up with the history of EMS, the Electronic Music Studio in Stockholm. The EMS pieces selected by Karlsson cover 30 years of Nordic electronic music and are reproduced from a vast array of loudspeakers in the ZKM’s large music studio, the Blue Cube.
