Tue, January 19, 2010 – Fri, January 22, 2010, Concert Series
This year, too, the University of Music Karlsruhe will be a guest at the ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics with three concerts presenting their current contemporary music productions. Wolfgang Rihm’s composition class will present numerous premieres and the ComputerStudio will also take part with exciting new developments from the classes for composition and computer music. Additionally, in a portrait concert, students and ensembles from the university will offer an overview of the work of recently appointed composition professor Denis Lorrain who worked for quite some time at IRCAM/Paris and for the past eight years was professor for electroacoustic music and computer music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse in Lyon.
