The Educational Mission of Public Media
Wed, June 12, 2013 7 pm CEST, Panel Discussion
The critique that TV formats have lost their appeal is voiced ever more frequently. In the foreground are primarily entertainment formats, and service offers with scandal-character, state the critics.
Yet it is precisely the responsibility of public radio to provide comprehensive educational programming. How can public television stand up to this leveling of quality? How can public media do justice to their educational purpose – especially at times of widespread distrust in politics?
These and other questions shall be explored during the panel discussion.
