Reinhold Weber
died at the age of 86 on March 25, 2013, in Karlsruhe. The composer, born in Gießen, in 1927, was a firmly established figure in the musical landscape of Germany. He graduated in his musical studies at the Robert Schumann Institute in Düsseldorf. Further studies were to follow, among other things, under Olivier Messiaen and Wolfgang Fortner. Reinhold Weber taught music theory, composition and piano at the Badische KONServatorium Karlsruhe for almost thirty years. In his compositions, Reinhold Weber focused on twelve-tone music. He became increasingly fascinated in the field of computer music since the 1970s. He produced numerous works at the Studio for Electronic Music at the University of Karlsruhe. At the same time, he was member of the Tonkünstlerverbandes Baden-Württemberg e.V., region Karlsruhe.

Alongside his works for electronic music, over 200 pieces distinguish Weber's artistic works. His pieces for organ and piano are performed throughout the world; his electronic music is also known in the USA. His symphonic work has met with enthusiasm on the international scene.
