Max Andrzejewski is a German drummer and plays with his band »Hütte« at the ZKM. He is not only a sensational drummer, but a conceputal thinker with pleasure and profundity. His urban swings calibrate old traditions to new pieces.

In the 60s and 70s the British drummer, composer and singer Robert Wyatt became famous through the band »Soft Machine« which he co-founded. The musician, who had been paraplegic since the mid-1970s after a window fall, later became a father figure and icon, above all through his solo albums. He combined political songs and hymns of liberation with a free-spirited musical attitude and melancholic, deep humanity and inspired countless musicians. So did bandleader Max Andrzejewski, who with his multi-instrumentalist Jörg Hochapfel and the singer Cansu Tanrikulu, among others awarded the German Jazz Prize for his band Hütte, dedicated a fine music to the great role model, oscillating between high energy and lyrical poetry.
