Giving and being given presents has many faces. Giving has always played an important role, especially in the world of art and culture –either through patronage, sponsoring societies, collectors or even artists themselves.

It might also happen that »gifts«, masked as art, enter the exhibition space, or that generous »gifts« occur that not everyone is happy about.

Giving and receiving a present is therefore a great topic for discussion.
