Opening: William Forsythe. Nowhere and Everywhere at the Same Time
On the photo you can see a lot of pendulums hanging from the top almost to the floor and in the middle of them a figure dances, dressed all in black, the head of the person is outside the picture.

One of the most influential choreographers of our time, William Forsythe (*1949, New York) has transformed the practice of ballet into a dynamic art form. We cordially invite you to the opening of »William Forsythe. Nowhere and Everywhere at the Same Time« at the ZKM | Karlsruhe – with installation, live performances, short film and panel discussion.

The installation »Nowhere and Everywhere at the Same Time No. 2« highlights two of the main interests in Forsythe's work: counterpoint and the unconscious choreographic competence evoked by choreographic situations. Visitors:inside are invited to interact with the installation in their movement.

With the CD-ROM »Improvisation Technologies. A Tool for the Analytical Dance Eye,« William Forsythe created a unique tool for understanding his improvisational movement language over 20 years ago. Now a new website makes central content from it freely accessible worldwide. We will present the project in a panel discussion.

In two live performances and a short film, the French choreographer and dancer Noé Soulier artistically explores William Forsythe's movement cosmos.
