A queer, Afrofuturistic sci-fi musical, visually bombastic, musically absolutely breathtaking and narratively incredibly innovative. The film deals with topics such as the exploitation of raw materials and people in Africa, queerness, post-colonialism - but in a brightly colored and thoroughly musical realization.

»Neptune Frost« was made entirely in Rwanda and Burundi, with an all-African cast. After a very extensive and successful festival tour, the film is now finally being released in cinemas with laurels from Cannes, Sundance, Rotterdam, Toronto, a plethora of African and queer festivals as well as the main prize at the festival in Melbourne.
