The Tech industry increasingly relies on artificial intelligence (AI) for climate change solutions. How can ecosystems of the future look like and which role can AI serve within them?

In the workshop, participants play a fictional scenario and take on the role of seven non-human characters, such as a hedgehog, a moss fungus or a butterfly, and develop a symbiotic community together. This is based on two climate scenarios predicted by an AI that threaten the ecosystem. In two game rounds, the players re-distribute resources and establish new symbiotic relationships among themselves. Will they manage to survive?

Symbiosis AI came from a year-long project consisting of a role-play workshop and a simulated environment. In this fictional scenario, a weather forecast artificial intelligence forms symbiotic relationships with the ecosystem to survive climate change. The output will be new maps of symbiosis co-created with all participants.

This workshop is part of the exhibition »Driving the Human. Seven Prototypes for Eco-Social Renewal«, Part 3: »Speculative Ecosystems and Interspecies Collaborations«.

No previous experience is necessary. For adults.
