Carte blanche: Concert by Evelyne Gayou with her own works

The composer, musicologist and PhD graduate Evelyne Gayou will give her debut concert at the ZKM on 13th January 2017. Both through her many years of work for the GRM and through her extensively published activities and research stays, such as at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University, Evelyne Gayou has been able to garner a formidable reputation. Ten years ago, for the fiftieth anniversary of the GRM, Evelyne Gayou’s noteworthy book »GRM—Le Groupe de Recherches Musicales: Cinquante ans d’histoire« was published by Éditions Fayard. In 1975, Evelyne Gayou was awarded her PhD at the prestigious Université Paris-Sorbonnes with a dissertation on contemporary musicology of the twentieth century. Irrespective of her several decades of continuous membership to the GRM, it is astonishing that only one of Gayou’s compositions has been performed by the group, as was determined by Reinhold Friedl in his »Les Femmes de Passage« radio feature.
