With their unique sound and rousing performance they have convinced critics and gained a worldwide fan base. Three composers and distinctive musical personalities form the US-American trio founded at the end of the 1990s, which processes influences from Stravinsky to Ornette Coleman and at the same time incorporates well-known pop and rock pieces as unconventional and successful as hardly any other piano trio of the past two decades.

The current 13^thalbum »Never Stop II« of the successful trio marks a turning point, because after 17 years of unchanged line-up of »The Bad Plus«, pianist Orrin Evans now follows in Ethan Iverson's footsteps. But the current compositions of all band members show that the trio nevertheless follows the tradition of their unmistakable, jazz-rock sound with fresh verve.
