Thomas Sifflings – Flow
Portrait of Thomas Siffling
Sat, October 13, 2018 10 pm CEST, Concert

Karlsruhe-born trumpeter Thomas Siffling received outstanding reviews when he was once again inspired by the father of jazz trumpeter Miles Davis for his current project and replaced his ancestral trio with a quintet of new colleagues. As a melodic instrumentalist he relies stylistically on a mix of Scandinavian spheres, compatible grooves and the instrumental brilliance of his role model.

Of course, electronics also play an important role in the current work of Thomas Siffling, who is particularly innovative. Siffling's jazz should be young and sound contemporary without denying its roots. Siffling also convinces in the new line-up as a melody-related, romantic player who puts himself entirely at the service of music. The sounding result is a varied mixture to groove, dance and chill out, full of courage to try something new over and over again.
